Tips on how to pick the perfect watermelon.
The perfect watermelon is one of the best additions to any summertime occasion.  A few pointers for picking the perfect watermelon, according the the National Watermelon Promotion Board.

~symmetric and firm
~no bruises, cuts, or dents
~heavy for its size
~hollow in sound
~if the watermelon shows a yellowish area ripen in the sun for a juicier, sweeter watermelon. 

A whole watermelon can last in the refrigerator for a week.  Once cut, the watermelon lasts for a few days if tightly wrapped in plastic wrap.

So pick a perfect watermelon, and eat the right way.
