Tomatoes the right way

Take care of your body the right way.  Eat 10 servings of tomatoes each week and see the benefits for yourself.
Tomatoes are one of the most versatile produce items around.  They are often used as a vegetable but classified as a fruit.  They contain life preserving compounds that are uncommon and found in only a few food sources.

The main compounds which make up the super food are lycopene (form of Vitamin A), vitamin C, folate, and potassium.  

These components will protect you against
- Many Cancers:  Prostate cancer in particular, but also stomach, lung, breast, colon, mouth, and throat. Do not forget getting your lycopene (vitamin A) from fruits and vegetables like tomatoes will result in more physiological benefits as opposed to ingesting supplemental vitamin A.

- Heart Disease: The nutrients found in tomatoes also lower cholesterol, and blood pressure.  Keeping your circulatory system pumping and flowing smooth.

- Immune Function: Finally tomatoes boost the immune system by increasing the amount of white blood cells in the body.  These cells ward off unwanted bacteria and viruses.

The recommended amount of tomato servings per week is 10.  10 tomato servings may seem like a lot, however, when items like a 1/2 cup of salsa and pasta sauce count as 1 serving its not so daunting.
